Let’s Break!

It’s almost that time. Yes most of us are almost at the 90 day mark of this school year. I’m so excited to be at this pinnacle. Why? I’m excited because after we finish our first 90 days we are taking a break!

A break. You know what that is right? No instruction. No lesson plans. No whining over math or reading. Just a few days of rest and relaxation. Now that’s what I’m talking about!

I love homeschooling and it’s one of the best decisions for our family. However, It does require a great deal of time and energy. So, taking some time off is imperative to continually have a successful homeschool.

Our breaks usually start around the New Year and gives us just the recharge we need to start the next half of our school year.

Giving yourself a chance to rest is so important as you all know. No one can work all the time. All work and no play can wreak havoc on your homeschool and family relationships.

So what to do during this time off? Whatever you want! That’s the beauty of taking some time away from your regularly scheduled program. You can do whatever you want to do. You can go camping, visit family out of state, or just spend a few days on the couch watching your favorite shows.

Everyone’s idea of rest is different. So, spend your break time doing what recharges your battery the most. I hope and pray that you all are planning on taking a break in the coming weeks. Enjoy your time of rest.

I’m most importantly a follower of Christ by who’s blood we believe there is salvation. We believe in biblical Truth only. Being led by the Spirit of God, we seek to raise our family by that Truth. I am a wife of 7 years, and mom to 8 wonderful children ages 6 years-9 months. We have been homeschooling for 2 years officially (6 if you include preschool). I enjoy music, gardening, and learning to live a healthy, non-toxic lifestyle.
