For the past three years United Christian Homeschoolers Unlimited – Accountability Association has had the wonderful privilege of being positioned to allow homeschooling students the opportunity to qualify for Palmetto Fellows.
If you aren’t familiar with this South Carolina prestigious scholarship click HERE to learn more.
Unless the Option 3 homeschooling Accountability Association provides ranking for its students the student will ONLY qualify for the Palmetto Fellows if they have a:
*4.0 gpa or higher
*ACT score of 32 or SAT score of 1400
Homeschool Students may still qualify for Palmetto Fellows if the association provides ranking and the student is:
*ranked in the top 6% of the ranking class
*3.5 gpa or higher
*ACT score of 27 or SAT score of 1200
What’s the big deal regarding receiving the Palmetto Fellows?
Well, The Palmetto Fellows Scholarship is a merit-based program established in 1988 by the General Assembly to recognize the most academically talented high school seniors and encourage these students to attend college in the State. The Palmetto Fellows scholarship Program is administered by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education. Palmetto Fellows may receive up to $6,700 their freshman year and up to $7,500 for their sophomore, junior, and senior years.
Taken from Commissioner of Higher Education Document May 2015
Two homeschool students have met the qualification to receive the Palmetto Fellows this year with EARLY entry application.
They are TWIN young ladies.
They ranked 1 and 2 in their Junior class homeschool year with UCHU-AA.
They are seniors this year for 2017-2018.
One qualified without a need for ranking.
The other qualified based on all three necessary requirements.
