Homeschool 2021 Reset

Do you take holiday break to enjoy spending time with your loved ones?

I decided for the final two weeks of December to take a winter break from homeschooling. This break was my homeschool reset.

It was an opportunity to relax from the daily homeschool schedule and enjoy spending time with my family.

Why did I decide to take a two-week break?

I was in need of a break and my children were too.

For example, the kids time management became very frustrating for me and challenging for them.

My current wake-up routine for my sons were no longer working.

As a result, my husband and I decided

to get our sons an Amazon Echo Dot to assist them in improving their time management skills because it serves the purpose of being an alarm clock and shutting off all entertainments that may hinder the need for a full night’s rest.

The current morning routine consists of me waking them up two to three times before actually moving out of their bed and that’s after feeling like a drill sergeant.

I have a teenager and a ten-year-old. I may be optimistic, hopefully having to wake them up more than once will end with Alexa.

I know that it is possibly wishful thinking, but I am looking forward to a homeschool 2021 reset.

Are you making any changes to your homeschool for the new year?

Happy New Year’s!!!

Happy Homeschooling!!!!
