Are you legally homeschooling in South Carolina?

There is one simple question to ask yourself to ensure you are homeschooling in the state of South Carolina legally.

Have you FIRST joined one of the THREE options in South Carolina?

If you are here on my website or fb page then the questions is if you’ve not joined my Option 3 Accountability Association yet when are you planning to do so?

A few things to keep in mind:

*Before you even begin your homeschooling journey you **must** join an Option 3 Accountability Association if your child is 5 years or older and you are planning to homeschool.

If they are five an you aren’t planning to homeschooling them nor put them in public school then you will need to complete a waiver for a delay at the school in which they would be attending otherwise.

If you have begun actually homeschooling and have **not** joined the Accountability Association then you will have to adjust your attendance date.

Accordingly, your legal homeschooling start date is the day in which you actually join and are accepted into the membership within my accountability association.

The Option 3 law requires 180 days of homeschooling.

This is NOT counting sick days nor vacation days (unless you are instructing or find that time to be educational in nature).

You 180 days only start upon your membership acceptance with my Accountability Association.

To start your process of membership with UCHU-AA you must:

*Complete the online application for membership consideration

*Pay membership fees (monthly or whole fee). See FAQ’s for details HERE

*If your application is not accepted your fees will be refunded

*Receive your membership package. Your package will have your acceptance letter which can be used to withdraw your student from their current school if needed
