It’s that time of year!!!
For many, their 2017-2018 homeschooling year has begun.
For others, they are preparing to get started in a week or so.
For people like me who are use to living in Virginia and school starting after Labor Day, we have a few more weeks of planning, thinking and enjoying the summer as we approach fall.
This year I’ve had a record number of new families join UCHU-AA.
I look forward to speaking with each of you by phone in the coming weeks during my care calls.
The returning families that I have the pleasure to serve another year under Option 3 AA – Thank you! Here’s to another smooth sailing year!
Members of my association I want you to know that I pray for my families. Each and every one.
I believe that each person I have the wonderful privilege to serve is divinely positioned for that year, for that season.
In other words, you are NOT with UCHU-AA by accident. 🙂
My words of encouragement for you today…
Part of my job is to provide legal accountability as well as help you navigate your ‘walk across the tight rope.’
Many families I’ve spoken to have have expressed different levels of uncertainty regarding homeshooling.
As always, I encourage them in the fact that, THEY CAN DO IT!
They CAN make it across the tight rope.
Well, let me explain.
Here are some facts about walking a tight rope. It’s much like homeschooling.
- Walking a tight rope is not as easy as it appears. Just like homeschooling. But it’s doable.
- Tight rope walking is done across a wire with tension applied between two points. Much like homeschooling. The ‘wire of tension’ is the day in and day out of homeschooling. The two points in which this ‘tension’ is applied is at the first day you start and the finish line (Whatever the finish line is or you. Up to high school, graduation, finishing elementary).
- In tight rope walking the use of an umbrella, bar or something to help with balance is used. Likewise, for homeschoolers we use various types of support, books, videos, tutors etc. to help us balance along this journey towards success.
- Tight rope walking can and often will take you across some dangerous areas. Likewise, homeschooling promises to do the same.
- Tight rope walkers and homeschooling parents equally have a high percentage of making it to the other side safely. Yay!!!
As one that is afraid of heights (me)……I’ll take homeschooling ANY old day over tight rope walking.
If you are one who enjoys the thrill, the racing heart and exhilaration then homeschooling is definitely FOR YOU!!!
You’ll walk away with all of those ‘feels.’
So what do you have to loose? Enjoy homeschooling and don’t worry about the possibility of dying.
Tight rope walkers learn, practice and strategize in such a way they are pretty sure they aren’t going to die.
Parents/Guardians you can count on not dying as you homeschool. 🙂
I’ve not heard of that happening. Not once. <<wink>>
