Tuesday’s Teach Them This: Success

The meaning of SUCCESS is following:
noun

  • 1. The achievement of something desired, planned, or attempted.attributed their success in business to hard work.
  • 2. The gaining of fame or prosperity.an artist spoiled by success.
  • 3. The extent of such gain.

However, followers of Christ may view SUCCESS differently.

For me personally success is OBEDIENCE  to the Lord no matter the positive or negative outcome that may come.

I’ve learned and indeed teach my children that SUCCESS doesn’t always come out ‘grand and beautiful.’

It often comes out of the satisfaction of knowing that you followed God’s plans, His will, His guidance and obeyed. The outcome of that LOOK OF SUCCESS is up to Him.

Additionally, SUCCESS IS  as God sees it to being something that is achieved that is of infinite, eternal value in this life and in the life to come. The Bible describes success in a much different way than the dictionary does.

So today I encourage you homeschool Mom to define success to your children.

Is success 100% on a paper or is it that they did their full best and earned a 86%?

Is success doing well on something that they understood well or conquering something or doing well in a concept that was super challenging even if they didn’t master it?

Keep in mind that…….

Success isn’t always pretty.

Success

Some levels of success will definitely take hard work.

Hard work is NOT a bad thing if it has eternal value and life changing effects.

Meditate of these Scriptures:

Walk in Success:
Psalm 1:1-3 “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.”

Joshua 1:8 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

Proverbs 3:1-4 “My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.”

Proverbs 2:7 “He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless.”

Success

This I would claim for my success—not fame nor gold,

Nor the throng’s changing cheers from day to day,
Not always ease and fortune’s glad display,
Though all of these are pleasant joys to hold;
But I would like to have my story told
By smiling friends with whom I’ve shared the way,
Who, thinking of me, nod their heads and say:
‘His heart was warm when other hearts were cold.
‘None turned to him for aid and found it not,
His eyes were never blind to man’s distress,
Youth and old age he lived, nor once forgot
The anguish and the ache of loneliness;
His name was free from stain or shameful blot
And in his friendship men found happiness.’
