What are some things that you do inside and outside of your home to prepare for Spring?
Do you Spring clean your home to get rid of unused items?
Do you replace your flowers, plant new vegetables in your garden, or remove unused items in your garage?
When my family first moved into our home, the goal was to get everything inside. Organizing the coat closet or hallway closet, that was the last thing that I wanted to you.
We have officially lived in our home for one year.
Today, I had an opportunity to begin my Spring cleaning by organizing both the upstairs and downstairs hallway closest.
I was unaware of how much stuff that we had until my youngest son and I begin cleaning out four shelves full of items.
While cleaning out the upstairs closest, I found several
items that I knew. We were not going to use anymore. Therefore, I placed these items inside of a box to donate.
While I was upstairs cleaning, my oldest son was clearing out the downstairs closest.
Once my youngest son and I were finish organizing the closet upstairs, I went downstairs to assist my oldest son. He had only two shelves remaining to clear off.
The downstair closest is a multipurpose closet. In other words, it is used for everything from outdoor games to our homebased business supplies for DeveghomemamaUCD. I am surely glad it is complete.
Why did I decide to Spring clean early?
To be honest, it was not my decision. I could have waited a few more weeks, but my husband made the decision for us to begin organizing and decluttering our home this weekend.
Why did I want assistance from my kids?
The saying two hands or better than one is so true. In my case, I had four additional hands assisting me in removing the items from the closet.
To ensure that everything was organized neatly, I decided to organize the shelves myself.
However, my sons were instructed on what to place in each bin. This helped me because I could continue to organize while my sons hand me the bins once they were finish.
Did Spring cleaning include a lesson?
Yes, it did. My children learned the importance of organizing your items to be able to locate your items when needed.
Have you begun your Spring cleaning?
Will you Spring clean this year?
