This article challenged me on so many levels.

I am the parent that wants:

quiet while schooling

sitting still and self-controlled

book learning as a focus

my students to *listen to me while I talk* without giving a lot of time to hear them talk

to listen the first time so I will not have to repeat

I will say that reading this write-up has caused me to begin to look at my schooling through the eyes of my inquisitive children and their learning.

I think you may be challenged by this writing too. 😀
