Personally, I have always been a photographic learning. My brain somehow would take a *picture* of whatever I saw and I’d remember it. Thus, I really DIDN’T need to study a lot for my classes.
As of recent I learned that I am a right brain learner.
Additionally, I’ve been introduced to the fact that knowing what type of learning your are rather right or left, makes a difference in how quickly a student can grasp information.
Needless to say that I was clueless in how to help my student who is a struggling spelling how to learn how to learn how to spell.
For me all I had to do is see it, write a couple of times and I got it!
For my speller in question, nothing I was doing was working.
I sought out help and some ideas on what to do. A dear friend sent me this article a few days ago. Right away I read it and put it to practice.
The results were positive. We only went over four spelling words in four minutes and she got it!!!
