Mold and Create Thinkers

One of the many goals of homeschooling our own children is to develop THINKERS who love learning and are inquisitive about the world they live in.

Forcing ‘required’ academics and focusing on ‘a grade’ can kill the curiosity of learning.

Be sure to provide opportunity in their studies where they can spend time researching and learning about things that is of interest to them.

Formulate opportunities for them to teach YOU what they’ve learned, researched or created.

Don’t just give kids books and have them regurgitate info back to you. They get that in public school.

Don’t get me wrong…. memorizing info for regurgitation isn’t a bad thing. But there is NO THINKING involved in that.

Simply keep BALANCE of learning facts vs. discovering facts.

Learning how to think begins with knowing enough of something to then have an opinion about it. As they mature and develop having an opinion about things of interest to them is a plus and a confidence builder.

So when you ask them about their thoughts on ‘parrallell universes’ then they will be confident to share thoughts they have on the subject. Rather bogus thoughts or not. 😬

Mold thinkers.
Don’t just tell them what/how to think.

Continue your homeschool journey.
