A big part of my life for the past 20 years has been homeschooling my EIGHT children.. And if you didn’t know I have a YouTube show and a podcast and a homeschool Association in the state of South Carolina where I give families legal status to home educate their beautiful children.
3-1/2 years strong of doing what I enjoy as an interviewer of black and brown homeschoolers across the world has been a big highlight of my journey. To purposefully showcase the homeschooling lives of those of the African Diaspora and to encourage those of the African Diaspora to home educate their children.
This year, 2020, I am being honored and recognized for serving my community. I truly am grateful and humbled.
Thank you Liberated Minds Expo.

From Founder/CEO of Liberated Minds:
Greetings Angela!
In the Adinkra language of the Akan people of Ghana and Cote d I’vore, West Africa, the sacred Akoben adinkra symbol depicts a war horn, connoting a state of preparedness for battle or “a call to action.” Many moons ago, when our Afrikan Ancestors were harvesting crops in the field and danger was imminent, the loud, “earthly sound” of the beautifully carved ivory horn signaled an urgent need to gather together and secure the survival of the village from the enemy. Today, when we examine schooling for Afrikan children in many parts of the United States (and around the world), we are starkly reminded that Black people remain at war with the vestiges of European-dominated educational system that continues to dumb down, mis-educate, and relegate Afrikan students.
On the occasion of The 2020 9th Annual Liberated Minds Black Homeschool & Education Virtual Expo, I would like to personally thank and honor you with our ABIBIFAHODIE AWARD (a West Afrikan Twi word for Afrikan Liberation) for your life’s work in sounding the war horn in the field of education on behalf of Afrikan children. Your support for and promotion of culturally-relevant homeschool curricula and African-centered education as a whole, even in the face of the worldwide COVID-19 health pandemic, are empowering Black families across the globe.
As a wise Black scholar recently lamented, “….there are many pressing issues facing our African American communities, but we can all agree that education……remains at the forefront.”
As we witness the culmination of a “New (Black) history in the making” with your organization at the helm, The Liberated Minds Black Homeschool and Education family remains committed to working with you toward the complete social, political, economic, and physical liberation of Afrikan people across the globe. We are privileged to see the next generation of Black scholars, deep thinkers, and world leaders develop in our children right before our eyes as we stand on the divine assurance that VICTORY IS OURS, as we see to it (without compromise) that Afrikan people reclaim our full essence of greatness and restore our rightful place on the planet. Above all, we are united in the wisdom of the Ancestors knowing that the Black family is the building block for our continued success. Let’s continue to push forward creating a reality that reflects our rich legacy, prosperity and abundance. Teamwork makes the red, black, and green work! Much love to you and your family!
