Covid 19!
Public school?
Private School?
Legally Homeschool?? Yes!!
The current pandemic has become a major concern for families with children possibly returning to public school for the 2020-2021 year. And now with the threat of the president cutting federal aid if schools don’t open up in the fall brings added concerns.
HERE IS THE QUESTION:
Since March until June 2020 you have been home educating your child(ren) by ‘force.’ Meaning YOU HAD TO oversee your child’s education while they have been home due to the pandemic – Covid-19.
What will home educating your child look like if you
were under the auspices of an Option 3 homeschooling association?
Legally home educating your child(ren) under the Option 3 laws of South Carolina and with guidance from me as your Option 3 director/administrator?
Have full control of the course of their education and learning?
For the past 6-years my Option 3 homeschool association – United Community of Homeschoolers Unlimited has been providing families all over the state of South Carolina with legal status to home educate their children under Option 3.
If you have NEVER considered homeschooling your children – where you are the driver and provider of your children’s education – then now is the time to consider doing so.
If you have been on the fence about the idea of homeschooling your children then NOW is the time to get off the fence. Besides the fact that our state, South Carolina, is still figuring out what public/private school will look like in the fall of 2020 for our children there are a few other reasons why homeschooling in South Carolina is so appealing.
1. South Carolina has very friendly homeschooling laws.
2. Abundance of homeschool support from your homeschool association is available. (In order to begin homeschooling legally you have to join a homeschool association.)
3. There are no concerns of school violence while homeschooling.
4. Homeschooling offers a wide open arena of education and discovery.
5. Homeschooling lessens the concern of your children being bullied.
6. Children are successfully homeschooling, graduating from homeschooling, heading to college, technical schools or the work force fully equipped for success.
7. Children with special needs receive the attention, advocacy and resources they need educationally.
8. Lessens the exposure of Covid 19 to your children.
People are always amazed when I share that I have EIGHT CHILDREN. Then they are floored and utterly speechless when I mention the fact that: I homeschool them all; have done so for 20 years;and have graduated three from homeschooling.
You see, when I was a teenager and saw my Auntie homeschool her four children, homeschooling has been one of my life’s goal.
I didn’t doubt that I could.
I didn’t doubt that I would succeed.
I didn’t doubt that my children would not want to be homeschooled.
I didn’t doubt if I was intelligent enough to get the job done.
I just didn’t doubt. I said I would do it…..and I did just that.
So many folks don’t realize that the best educator their children can have is from their very own care givers .
Why??
Because you will be their best advocate.
You are going to ensure they thrive.
You will ensure they not only learn what they should but also what they really have interest in.
You will search high and low to provide their needed resources for success.
You will give them the individual attention they need.
And when you feel as if YOU aren’t enough…..you will do what needs to be done to become enough. Getting started homeschooling is a very simple process.
It starts with A DECISION.
Proceeded with BECOMING KNOWLEDGEABLE.
Ending with the actual ACTION OF HOMESCHOOLING.
