Today’s post will be short and sweet. I want to encourage you all today to always speak positive words and have positive thoughts toward your homeschool journey. What you say and think about your children, your teaching abilities, and your home all play a major role in your success this school year. You can not expect to have excellence if you are constantly speaking mediocrity.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” according to Proverbs 18:21. You control the atmosphere in your homeschool. Allowing negative thoughts and words to constantly be spoken can destroy a peaceful homeschool and turn it into a destructive wasteland. It can become a place where learning is a struggle and daily life is miserable.
Proverbs 15:4 tells me that “The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.” Meaning speaking kindly will bring life and positive energy, but speaking negatively will destroy a spirit, yours and your children.
It does not matter what it may look like presently. What you must speak is what you want it to be. We believers call that faith. It’s positive thinking. It’s going to get crazy and frustrating and monotonous and even unbearable sometimes. That’s just life. But the key thing to remember is that things don’t have to stay that way. The words you speak and the attitude you keep can drastically change how you persevere through a challenging situation.
Your words are life. Your words are power. Speak life and speak it in spite of what it looks like. Your words control your environment. Your words will bring peace or disaster. Your words can bring life or death to your homeschool. Your words will usher your children into greatness or mediocrity. So speak life today and speak it abundantly!
I’m most importantly a follower of Christ by who’s blood we believe there is salvation. We believe in biblical Truth only. Being led by the Spirit of God, we seek to raise our family by that Truth. I am a wife of 7 years, and mom to 8 wonderful children ages 6-7 months. We have been homeschooling for 2 years officially (6 if you include preschool). I enjoy music, gardening, and learning to live a healthy, non-toxic lifestyle.
