Think outside of the homeschooling ‘box.’
Don’t get in a rut of how you think homeschooling should look.
Do something unique.
Totally surprise your kids one day or a few days each week on where you’ll have school. What time of day you’ll have school. Or what you’ll do in school.
When my older four children were younger I would purposely homeschool in different places.
Just yesterday I was speaking with my third oldest about this. She shared how fun it was to school in the library, the library conference room, out at the park on a blanket, in the back yard, while sitting in a tree, in the back of our van looking at the beach (we lived in Virginia then close by the ocean), at a picnic table at a camp ground or at a friend’s home.
I just kept it different and engaging each week. At least one day a week.
Honestly…..I need to get back to that and allow my younger four children to experience this fun.
I need to think outside of the box!
I need to add new and unique elements to our schooling.
Honestly, sticking to what I know is comfortable and predictable. I don’t have to think up tings. But also is boring sometimes.
Give it a try. I will.
Let’s see how our children react.
Let’s see if their ‘I love homeschooling’ meter just not move up some notches.
(Share this blog post with a homeschooling friend. It just may be the encouragement and creative thinking they need for their homeschooling.)
